Dog Training Advice – For the Win!
As we all know, our Dogs are our Best Friends. So any Dog Training Advice we can review and learn from helps us train our Pups to be safer and better pets. The use of good dog training techniques are essential to their long and healthy lives.
This information is especially important for new Dog owners so they will have an idea of how to fully train their dogs. And the earlier the better. Training a puppy is easier than training an older dog.
There really aren’t any hidden secrets to dog obedience training. Basic Dog care and Dog health information is commonly available online for those who search for it. There are also good puppy training programs and dog obedience systems that work very well. They are published and for a mostly nominal fee you can have them handy at any time that you may need to refer back to the information.
In addition to finding lots of dog training tips online, more and more businesses promote their dog training supplies, dog training equipment, dog food, and dog medication as a fast and widespread means of distributing their products to the public. This is a very good thing. It gives people greater access to these products and more information about how to care for their pets.
Online dog training advice and information on dog training schools give owners a chance to browse the things they need during training and for general Dog care. Some websites even provide different types of dog training information depending on the type of dog you own and it’s history. As we all know, dog behavior between one breed and another can be widely different.
The two most commons issues we see are puppies that are not house trained and potty in the house, and dogs that bark too much. Learning information on house training a dog and also how to stop a dog from barking isn’t that difficult, but will take a bit of time and love on your part. Dog potty training takes many different forms, and the methods of puppy training are different than older dog training.
When training a puppy to potty outside, you need to ensure you keep a good eye on him/her. A few common easy potty training tips for puppies are:
- Make sure he/she has a place to go. And teach them to go there. Perhaps it’s a place in your garage they can get to with newspaper down or something like that. Once you get them to go there they will be more inclined to go there because of the smell.
- If they go where you don’t want them to, clean it up good with a good deodorizer. You don’t want them thinking hey that’s the place they need to go potty.
- Also if they go somewhere you don’t want them to, clean it up good and then for a few days play with them in that area. If possible, feed them in the same area. They will get that is not the place to go potty.
- Lastly, everyone in the family needs to be onboard in this puppy training. Everyone should be using the same dog training techniques for training your puppy to go where you want them to.
Here is a dog training tip I hope we all abide by… don’t hit your dog. Hitting them doesn’t work and it’s cruel. They don’t understand. So don’t do it. Try positive reinforcement and teaching, it works better and your pet will be happier.
Here is some dog training advice to help train older dogs not to potty in the house. Basically similar to the information above but older dog behavior and thought patterns are different.
- Teach them to go in a specific area outside. When you can tell they need to go take them to that area and stand there with them until they go. Yep you need to spend some time with them. Also, the twist here is that you are teaching them to DO something instead of to NOT DO something.
- Use the same words for “potty” every time you take them out. They will begin to understand that word.
